System Requirements
To successfully launch and fully utilize the capabilities of the Surplus Energy Switch application, your Smart Home ecosystem must meet the following technical requirements:
Compatible Smart Home Gateway
Section titled “Compatible Smart Home Gateway”The application operates as a native QuickApp and requires one of the following management gateways:
- FIBARO Home Center 3 (HC3)
- FIBARO Home Center 3 Lite (HC3L)
- Nice Yubii Home or Yubii Home PRO
Software Version: Gateway operating system (firmware) version 5.150 or newer is required.
Active Account and Network Connection
Section titled “Active Account and Network Connection”- Gateway Registration: The device must be registered to an official user FibaroID or Nice ID account.
- Internet Access: Network connectivity is required solely for secure software license verification. All decision-making logic, device control, and ICAS algorithms run 100% locally on your Fibaro Home Center 3 hub (Local-First architecture), ensuring complete operational independence from external cloud services.
Energy Metering (Input Data)
Section titled “Energy Metering (Input Data)”For the algorithm to correctly calculate energy balance and control loads, the system requires a proper photovoltaic configuration in your Fibaro HC3 Energy Panel.
Actuators (Controlled Devices)
Section titled “Actuators (Controlled Devices)”- ON/OFF Actuators: Any relay, switch, or smart plug compatible with the gateway (e.g., FIBARO/Nice Wall Plug, Single Switch, Double Switch, and others) assigned to the controlled load (e.g., domestic hot water pump or electric heater) with a unique ID in the system.
- Additional Sensors (Optional): If you configure custom threshold conditions (e.g., preventing heater activation when water temperature in the boiler exceeds 55°C), an appropriate temperature sensor must be installed and paired in the system.
